What is your honest opinion of Crimson-Heartsss?
I don't see eye to eye with them on everything, especially their take on irrelevant humor... but they're one of the few content creators on this side of the Internet who's openly willing to acknowledge that the monsters of Undertale have done dubious things, shady, underhanded things that they originally had no intention of showing remorse for until a few of us started questioning the status quo and thinking for ourselves instead of following the fandom's wishes. Not everyone wishes to live the life of a lemming.
Like how despite Toriel's defense of calling out Asgore for killing six human children for a cruel and inefficient plan... she's actually more guilty than him because she indulged herself in six counts of negligent homicide just to 'protest' the actions of a dull-witted king who honestly could have done a better job if she hadn't locked herself in the Ruins out of spite.
Reasonable creators with honest viewpoints are very hard to find in this day and age, which is why I respect them.
Well, I think some of their stuff is interesting, like that Undyne and some of the monsters should've apologized to Frisk, and Sans and Toriel should've been more proactive in protecting them, but they go WAY overboard with the bashing and I HATE what they say about Papyrus. A lot of the monsters also have good points too, and they ignore them.
That's mostly a matter of personal preference. I've spoken to many, many people who use the term 'bashing' just to denounce any sort of narrative that portrays the cast in a less-than-reverent light.
It's not surprising to me, because Toby Fox used the same form of rhetoric that Andrew Hussie used for Homestuck, the sort of rhetoric that goes out of its way to appeal to Internet culture and memes.
That's why such fandoms have a reputation for being... overzealous at times. Because that defense of irony gives people a reason to do terrible, terrible things just to defend their narrative of choice. Just look at all of the people who get so outraged over Chara offence vs Chara defense... when in reality, the Fallen Child was only as important as people believed they were. And if you believe that these characters don't have anything meaningful or relevant to contribute...
It's why I don't mind seeing a few people call out the monsters because the entire narrative of Undertale was built with rather dubious implications and messages.
Even Papyrus isn't quite above all that dubious stuff, despite his protests to the contrary.
